Anyway... I have had a blast with this today but am still not finished. A friend of mine has brought it to my attention a time or two that I do tend to misjudge how long things take to get done. (Edith) So guess I shouldn't be surprised that this is taking longer than just a day, like I have originally thought. More like three to four. But it is starting to look pretty good. Not perfect but pretty good none the less. I have all the paint and stickers and tape stripped off of it. Took the steel wool to it and got all the extra stuff off then vacuumed it just to make sure. Then got to the spray painting part of it. That's where the fun started. Literally. Started with a beige gloss paint. It was like I was laying down a clear coat. Thankfully my son, Jesse, saw what was going on and said that the satin finish wouldn't do that as bad. And a primer would help also. LOL So sent him to Wal-Mart. He came back and I got to work. WOW what a difference that made. Don't tell him he was right. So one coat of primer and two of the beige. Next was the hinges and other hardware. That I did with a bronze paint. ALL THOSE RIVETS!!! Got the first coat on with no trouble. But then started getting a little loopy with the paint fumes and decided that was enough for the night. All that is left to do is a second coat bronze paint and laying down the fabric. So what do you think??
