Mini blinds are not the only thing I have accomplished today. Got most of that caulking on the shelves done. This was my first ever attempt at caulking and wasn't too sure if I would be able to do it, much less do it as neatly as hubby, Sam does it. He makes it look so easy too. Well..... I definitely don't make it look easy. LOL Clean up with a wet paper towel and my finger made it as neat as when Sam does. But I use about THREE times the amount of caulk. Good thing it's pretty cheap.
First rule I learned. (After learning to load the gun of course.) Is that you don't have to constantly pull on the trigger. Built up pressure will do a lot on it's own. Second rule: Did you know there is a pressure release thingy that you should push BEFORE laying the gun down. If you don't the caulk will continue exude out of the tip and onto your newly installed floor. Which leads me to the third rule. Paper towels, Paper towels and more paper towels. They are needed to lay the gun down on. They are needed to clean the tip of gun. And the most important thing..... They are needed to clean fingers. If not then you make a mess everywhere. Other good rules might be: Don't wear good jeans. Have wet paper towels handy to wipe excess off the walls. But maybe my favorite rule/tip is: Now that I have proved I can do it, just let hubby do it from now on. LOL Sorry Sam but caulking is NOT my cup of tea.
