Anyway, it now has a new coat of primer on it and hopefully in the next few days I can paint it white. It will be my sewing desk when this is all finished. Could use some advice though. Because I will be using it a lot and a sewing machine will be on it, do I need to put a coat of polyurethane on the top. Oh yeah forgot. The know have a really nice patina on them and think that I will keep it that way.
This is a sewing desk that I bought at a yard sale for $15.00 about ten years ago. Mother was with me at that yard sale and actually was the one to talk me into buying it. It's in rough shape. The veneer is peeling up on top and is chipped here and there. But has great lines and love the look of it.
Needed another table for the my serger. Had been looking at antique stores and flea markets for something when I remembered that I have this!!! That saves me a bit of money at least.
I don't have primer on this yet but am in hopes to get that done before going to bed. Am thinking that because of the condition of the top that I should have a piece of glass cut for the top.
Hannah had gotten me a package of multi-size picture frames for Christmas. Such a wonderful daughter. So have been trying to make pictures to go in them that will be right at home in my sewing room.
I found these dress form clip art online and printed them over a hand written font background. The frames are only 2.25 x 3.25 so rather tiny.
They definitely needed to be grouped and have always love the idea of linking pictures with ribbon or chain. Well had the ribbon on had so tried that look first. Think they should stay this way, though unsure of the proportions.
I do apologize for the resolution. It's dark now when I took the picture and am just using my camera phone. But you get the jest of it I hope.
Well....to wrap up this post. I have been keeping busy working on the room. More so than I thought I would. Hopefully I will keep this pace up and have this room done soon. I am keeping Mother's note in the room to remind me that "At least to one thing today!"
