The one thing I did do was frame that picture of mother. This whole process is because of her and that note she wrote. So her picture deserves a bit of special treatment. I like the results.
Also while going through some of her stuff last week I found this dog. This little stuffed dog is special to us. When I was pregnant with my son, Jesse, mother found it at a yard sale and cleaned it up. It's a wind up toy that plays "Rock-A-Bye Baby". After I had Jesse, anytime he was over at her house she would wind it up and he would go right to sleep. This went on for years and my son still remembers it. He tends to get sentimental about certain things like this and wants me to hold on to it until he gets older. So what better place for it than in my sewing room.
So... What to do with it. I have a few of her bells but nothing that needs a whole cabinet for display. A thimble collection??? Think this would swallow them up. LOL So what else do I have that could go in here. My DOLLS!! Granted they won't all fit but the majority of them will. I have wanted for a long time to have my dolls out in the open for inspiration. Constantly having them out motivates me to make new clothes and patterns for them. This is perfect! Just a good primer and coat of white paint to match the rest of the furniture in the room.
This does raise a problem though. While some of my dolls have clothes on them already, most of them are in their birthday suits. So guess I will have to get to sewing, huh? Don't want naked girls and boys in that cabinet when this is all done.
I know this post has been a bit on the mushy side but thanks for reading it.
